Short courses offered through colleges tend to be general and high level, targeting mostly people visiting French speaking countries rather than French for businesses owners. Unless you commit yourself to an HNC/HND in commercial French, you will not find what you need. For those looking to improve their conversational or reading skills, it might not be enough.
Private companies can offer a more targeted solution but this usually is expensive and as staff are unlikely to be French, you will miss on the correct pronunciation and intonations. This solution is not viable for the private customers. As a native French and having spent my life between France and Scotland, I have been in countless situations where I had to provide instant translation over the phone or face-to-face for the council, the bank, other companies I have worked for and hotels I have been to. I have also given translations of many documents at a commercial and literary level, including to PHD research students. I can provide businesses with the training you need at your place of work with a selection of vocabulary building exercises, role plays and topical conversations. You will find that French can be fun and useful and I can include further cultural aspects if required.
Private customers, English-as-a-second-language adults and all translation services operate directly from Kynballoch Cottage Studio while school pupils are taught at their home. |
